How to Install Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 on PC

1. Download the game and save it to your PC.
2. Right-click the downloaded file and select “Extract Here” or “Extract to folder” using WinRAR or any similar tool.
3. Wait for the extraction process to complete.
4. Once done, open the extracted folder.
5. Run !start_sp26.bat to start the game.

⚠️ Warning: Ignore fake things in ads—close them and return here. Real files are large, ads are tiny!
We don’t use very small files.

Extract the files, open the folder, copy everything, and paste it into the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 root folder, replacing existing files when prompted.

On v1 release, i forgot to re-add a static SteamID into configs.user.ini which causes the emu (or the game) to regenerate random SteamID upon game exit that causes the existing save files to not get loaded on the next game boot. Re-adding it back in v2 fixes it.

But if you’ve already progressed enough in the campaign and want to restore your old progress without starting over, then follow this steps:

– Navigate to “C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Activision\Call of Duty\players”
– Take a note of the SteamID of the numbered folder (the oldest created) that contains your already existing save files
– Open configs.user.ini in both “sp26\steam_settings\” and “sp26\steam_settings\local_saves\settings\” and put the SteamID that you’ve noted earlier on “account_steamid”
– Done

MW4 Texture Streamer

On a PC whose internet connection has no IPv6, the game’s texture streamer looks up the CDN host name (cod-assets.cdn.callofduty.com) and only accepts an IPv6 answer. Windows hands it an IPv4 address wrapped as IPv6 (::ffff:a.b.c.d), and then refuses to open a socket to that address, so the game never sends a single packet. Nothing in the UI tells you. The cache folder just stays empty and you play on the shipped low-resolution textures.

Download, install, configure and play with HD textures if you have issues with IPv6 streaming.
